Highway Assistant

Highway Assistant is a driving assistance mode that provides new levels of convenience and stress-free travel over long distances. It allows the driver to take their hands off the steering wheel when driving on highways (or other divided roadways) under certain conditions.

• Works in combination with Active Cruise Control and Steering  Assistant at speeds up to 80 miles per hour
• Available on highways and other roadways with a structural divider between opposing lanes of traffic
• Driver must always maintain focus on the road ahead and be prepared to assume responsibility for steering

The Highway Assistant is provided for up to 8 years commencing from in-service date. The feature will disable after that time. Highway Assistant can be used only on divided roadways, under certain conditions. Weather, traffic, road conditions, availability of high definition map data and other factors may affect performance. Highway Assistant helps drivers with the driving tasks but is not a substitute for the driver’s responsibility to operate the vehicle in a safe manner. Drivers must always pay attention to vehicle alerts, warnings, road condition, road objects, other drivers, pedestrians and take corrective action if required. Failure to pay attention and use proper care may result in injury, death or damage to property. Use of Highway Assistant may not be permissible in certain locations.
